Aboriginal Art Lizard

Art- Aboriginal. Original, or my own design (more explanation in here) quick please!!!?
My homework for art- Aboriginal Art collage.
I have 2 ideas.
1#: Original lizard with dots and background like EVERYONE in class is going to do. this will guarentee i do the task right.
2# My own design with a aboriginal styled wolf, looking at a stag. trees in background with VERY long grass, and small lizards climbing each tree.
Thats the cause of this question. Should I go with my own design? Im not sure if the teacher will be happy though, as its not like NORMAL aboriginal artwork… but I LOVE the idea.. I just want to do well in my class as well..
please quickly as you can answer… in at least 20 mins if possible!!!

Well you can either go with the rest of the herd an conform to what is expected or go with your own original interpretation. As long as you follow certain aspects of what makes Aboriginal art identifiable then I think it is the nature of art and artists to evolve ideas while remaining within the guidelines of the project.
