What do you think of this Australian artist? Do you think she should be famous in the US too?

If you don’t know who Jessica Mauboy is, she is a beautiful Aboriginal-Australian artist, who came runner-up on Australian Idol 2006. A couple of years later, she made an album with a #1 hit number featuring Flo Rida. Her other singles also became a hit.

She also released a new album this year, with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Jay Sean and Iyaz featuring in her songs and singles. With the support with these artists, her songs aren’t even recognizable to the US.

I pretty much think that she deserves fame in the US too. She has one beautiful voice.

I’m from NZ, I know of her. I’m not a fan of hers, I’ve heard her work. She’s just like a lot of other artists in the world. She should be famous because she appears to be a hard worker. She’s sorta changed her image.. I like it.

The thing is there are so many other people out there that do what she does. Everyone get’s a turn to be in the spotlight, some longer than others and some faster than others. Everything takes time, with new material and big names, someone, somewhere is listening to her stuff and being inspired.

Sure, you need loads of fans to bring in money .. but being able to have a personal life and still mix with major artists is pretty good for a girl that’s come out of Idol.

And that was me being nice. I’ve always supported NZ and Australias Idols, I’m going to Xmas in The Park tomorrow night to see Altiyan perform. It’s going to be good
