what was the history of the governments attempt to deal with Aboriginal People?

ok i just read about this like 2 weeks ago in World Geo, but idk what your really wanting to know, i know that the government tried to strip them from their land b/c they believed that the people had no attachment to it and that it was unsettled so they didnt sign any treaties, i also know that the government took the mixed children from the aboriginal people and placed them with the white families, the people now look at the children stolen as the “stolen generation”
